There are no two ways about it: Being in debt is no fun at all. This is especially true if you are more than few thousand dollars in debt and the majority of that money is tied up in credit cards. It feels like you can never quite make ends meet, and saving up cash for recreational purposes (like a family vacation) is totally out of the question. So what's the solution? Up until a few weeks ago, I had absolutely no idea. Then I heard about this book called Free Money by Kevin Trudeau. They also call this book "Kevin's Free Money" and "Free Money They Don't Want You To Know About.." You might know him as "the Debt Cures guy." He has an infomercial and a website and he's always trying to sell this book that apparently has all these tips to help you get out of debt. I had heard that he's a bit of a crook, but I had never actually read any of his stuff for myself. In the end, the idea of scoring some "free money" for myself seemed like too great of an opportunity to pass up, so I decided to go for it and order my copy online.
First of all, the price isn't bad for the book: $29.95. I had to pay shipping, but when I buy it through them directly, it does come with a free "25 Easy Ways to Put $5,000 in Your Pocket" guide, as well as the option of buying Trudeau's original Debt Cures book for an additional shipping and processing fee. I decided against buying Debt Cures this time, even though I was a little curious. I figured I would see what Free Money had to offer before making that leap.
When the book came, I was kind of put off by the cover. It looks pretty cheesy, with the loud graphics and the huge picture of Kevin Trudeau grinning at you against a background of dollar bills. Luckily, it turns out that this book actually has some really useful tips! His writing style is a little simplistic, but it's not like you're going to read this book for fun on the beach. I actually appreciate how easy it is to understand. I'm no financial expert - obviously! - so it was nice to have things explained in layman's terms, with concrete, specific advice. Trudeau offers ways to figure out whether you have money that is actually owed to you, in your name, that is going unclaimed - and, if so, how to claim it. He also offers tips on how to secure grants from the government. Grants are fantastic because, unlike loans, they don't accumulate interest and never have to be paid back. Plus, they can be used for practically anything you can imagine, from paying off your creditors to starting a business to buying a home.
Would I recommend Free Money? If you already have a great grasp on your money and you understand finances, investments, and so forth, you probably don't need it. A lot of this is fairly basic. But for people like me, who don't have the knowledge, I think this can be a great resource to finding new sources of income and ways to get out of debt fast. Give it a try! You can always get your money back (minus shipping) if you're not satisfied.

ANYTHING even remotely connected with Trudeau is a scam. If you order any of his 'books' you will notice unauthorized charges to your credit card and Trudeau sells your personal information to other scammers and spammers. Trudeau--Stay Away!!
Anything that implies "free money" is a scam.. this includes Trudeau's new book. I guarantee this was a paid for written review because if you just do a little google research, you will find a list of law suits and complaints against this author.. you get the book but then get charged hidden fees. All for some basic information that you can easily find for free.. on the internet.. They won't refund like they say and customer service is beyond rude. DO NOT BUY THIS BOOK!
Most of the information that Kevin Trudeau gives is true. However, his promises about how easy it is to succeed with his techniques are greatly exaggerated. Many people can learn a lot from his books. Just don't expect to get rich quick or get out of debt too easily.
I only wish I had read the reviews on-line before I ordered Mr. Trudeau's book "Free Money"! Like so many infomercial con-artists, I wouldn't be surprised if he is off the air (permanently) within a year. Most (if not all) the information he presents (on TV and in his book) is a 5th grade re-hash of what most of us already know. Buyer beware.
This book is very much so a scam. He surfed the internet and took the most basic info he could find which couldn't have taken more than a couple of days(while he was sitting in prison) and copy and pasted this into a book format. All this free money he is talking about is rediciulous and applys to maybe a few thousand people that forgot about accounts they opened and relatives they didn't know they had. Most people know what accounts they have and the relatives they have so the most this book will do for you is get you exicited to do your own research.

Guys, the guy is the biggest fraud on T.V. and who's say's a person is a sucker for wanting and trying to find a way to better there life. Experience is the best teacher. Jail taught Kevin and a few lost bucks taught us.
I wonder if he can an international version. There is no point for international readers to learn about k401 or other schemes that are customized for US readers.
This is a big SCAM, I tell you run, I decided to take the time and write about my experience so I maybe able to help someone else. I order the book and tapes and Kevin went on and on ramping about his lies, everything he talks about is ordinary, things that we all know or knew about for years, lastly, he stole $14.99 from my Credit Card, I was unaware of him charging me for a Newsletter that I never got in the mail, after calling, they claimed they sent it out, I told them that I spoke to their representatives several times when they called asking about my address, I told them that I moved, which we did because of my husbans's job. The rep. told that the $14.99 is non refundable I said that my address changed and I never received this newsletter by mail, the rep. then told me that The reps that called about my address were "JUST CALLING TO SELL ME SOMETHING" so conclusion I lost $14.99 of my husband's hard earned income. Kevin is a big scammer and he seem to be filled with joy when doing this, take a good look at him selling his book you'll see through him a big liar. Stealing from the less fortunate to put in his own pockets. However I Bless him and hope that he can sleep comfortable at nights doing this.

I too purchased trudeaus book, yes there were some good info in them but if it would stop there. I have been sent letters wanting to give me secret information for only $299!! Whatever!!! If the cost of the book didn't help why would I send $299. more??? Yes we can learn from our mistakes. I've seen how he became debt free at our expense! This is a scam!I returned this book 14 days ago and I cannot even get a refund. Customer Service cannot communicate with the warehouse so they will not give me a refund. The P.O. says it does not take 14 days to deliver a package so the package is sitting in Free Money's warehouse.Unfortunately, my husband did not get a tracking number, so there's nothing I can do. So take a fool' advice and do not do business with this company or order any of the
products. It will be your loss!

Just wanted to let you guys know that I got to thinking I didn't get a confirmation number or anything....and they took my card number before they asked for anything....called back to cancel order and the lady said that she could not cancel an order that she could not pull up. She told me it takes 24 - 48 hours for it to show up and then it automatically goes thru your bank.... but that it had a 30 day money back guarantee...yeah right!!! ....i called my bank and blocked my card.....Charm them suckers ...it has kinda put an inconveince on me for about 7 days till i receive my new card but hey it is worth it just so they don't take my money.....don't get taken in by these people...now that i look back it just didnt seem right to begin with!!!

Do you know that local libraries can get a copy of these books for you? That's what I did I was courious and did not want to spend the money so I went to my local library and they ordered a copy for me.

How can anybody ever be dumb enough to buy anything from this guy after all that he has been called out on? Natural Cures, for one example. Anybody who is actually stupid enough to think that our government is going to just GIVE them FREE MONEY deserves to be robbed by this guy. Have some common sense guys. I do think it's wrong what he's doing but please don't blame anybody but yourselves for your money being stolen. What ever happened to common sense? Trudeau is a fraud. And anybody who thinks that the "Kevin Trudeau" who responded on this board is actually him is a fine example of why this guy got rich in the first place.
Just responding to Jared how do you know if hes rich or not. Kevin doesn't say its going to make you rich he says its going to help you pay bills and the costs of living. If you yourself haven't read his book or talked to him in person nobody gives a blank what you think. By the way this money was given to the presidents campaigns by electors. This means that the government owes you money and you just need to claim it but they want to keep it. The government doesn't tell you this because they don't want you to have it and since they don't tell you it all builds up.Unlike Jared I don't waist my time bagging on people that are more successful than I. Do yourselves a favor get this book its amazing.

As per his infomercial, a couple of camera/studio went to his website and got $50 dollars. I just got off the phone with customer service and they directed me to missing money website. I knew nobody left me any money. I purchase the book to help out people as a consultant. You would be better off with Charles Givens "Wealth Without Risk" book - I do not know the new joker on the informercial claiming he wrote it. In short - DO NOT BUY IT!!!
If he knows 4000 ways to get free money then why doesen't he give one specific way in his infomercial for me to make $256 dollars. If that were the case I would likely buy two of the same book. I guess I am just like the other 150 million people who will never know they are entitled money.

I ordered the free money book with 2 free books and they told me on the phone it would be 19.95 plus 11.95 shipping and handling....they overdrew my account telling me that they charge S&H on each book.....I did the math and they charged me 29.95 plus 11.95 shipping plus the sales tax. I tried to tell them no, and they told me no, it's 11.95 per book. So now I'm out an overdraft fee of 36.00 plus the overcharge of the book of $10.00!!!!!!!

I called to what the deal was they told me 19.95 plus 11.95 s&h plus another 11.95 s&h for the dept book when I told them I was not going to pay $24 for shipping the rep then offered me $ 30.00 in free gas vouchers. So basically $ 44.00 for a Bullsh*t book and $30.00 in gas vouchers that are'nt going to work anyways.

I don't know what's in this book and I'm not going to buy it. I am fascinated by infomercials and the fact that people spend money on these books. It's heartbreaking actually. I'm sure there are a lot of people out there who are in real difficulty, so let me offer a word of caution. I noticed he talked about grants: in order to get a grant, you have to propose to do something. If you don't do that thing, you are committing fraud. Grants are not given for the sole purpose of paying bills, and lying to get one is a serious crime. Also, in order to get money from deceased relatives that haven't named you in their wills requires that you be the next of kin, and that there not be any other creditors (people that person owed money). Generally speaking the state will act as executor of an estate if no relative comes forward. In any event, these transactions are complex and usually involve expensive legal costs. Generally speaking, there's no such thing as free money, if there were, we would all know about it and the trick for accessing it wouldn't need to be in a book. Free money is not the sort of thing that people could keep a secret. If you need help with debt, you should search for non-profit debt relief organizations.

I stupidly bought this book. Never arrived after 4 months. Tried to get a refund but "Lo and Behold" my request never showed up in customer service so they get to keep my $43.95 and I never received the product. I went to the local Goodwill store and bought it for 99 cents and was not shocked to see then that Trudeau had gotten us again. This book is a complete waste of time and took maybe a dozen hours of his time to steal information already available on the internet to anyone. Why is anyone buying from Kevin Trudeau when you can purchase his books through ebay, amazon, etc. He ususally has good information whether its natural cures or weight loss. If you buy his book from the infomercial and would would like to get the debt cures, you have to pay 11.95 for shipping and processing. Come on, 11.95, is he shipping the book with a metal cover.

I actually did the 'found money' example that he claims he did in the infomercial. But I did some research first. I actually got some money coming from the state once I send in the form.
I obtained the info from the internet, AFTER Kevin gave me the idea. DON'T BUY THE BOOK. From what I have heard, you can condense it in 5 pages and not worth it. It's only a scam if you buy into it.

That guy kevin Trudeau is an expert in infomercials and you will see him on tv during the night mostly and he is really a talker and good at what he does: deceiving people-take your money and lies about all his products..You see, he is a multi-millionaire due to people like you buying his products: Believe me the FTC is on his tail to try to protect consumers but even that he manage to say lies without cross the free of speech that he is allowed to (ie: censored the title of his book or cd's) and by saying "I can't tell you , you 've got to buy my book, it's in there" without making a statement on television..the guy is smart and he learn a way to make money and people who buy his books contribut to his fortune. Kevin Trudeau has been in infomercials since he is 21 y/o and I know of him in television since 1990 when he was promoting MEGA MEMORY, I don't know if anybody remenber that..AGAIN, DO NOT BUY HIS PRODUCTS: You will be charged more than $29.99 or $39.99 which the books have no new information whatsoever. He re-uses other infos that you can find in any other books(financials or entreprises)and re-write it and use his known public appearance to promote it and it works. I have been watching him from time to time because he amuse me and he is always on tv still thru the years..except couple of years to 3 years because of jail time. Not a guy to trust about any products...

Like Mike, I remember going to a seminar where Kevin Trudeau presented his memory program. I was sooooo impressed I bought the program and spent a pretty penny. I liked some of the concepts and would refer to the resources until I lost them in a fire. Over the years, I have noticed that Kevin promotes/sells anything he is paid to sell. That made me skeptical and I decided to do my research before purchasing this "free money" book. Thanks to all those who offered a review. I am not surprised that this book is like most of his material... available online and not as easy as he promotes to get money from. Anyway, I agree with those who suggest going to the library and borrowing anything with Kevin Trudeau's name on it.

You're all missing the beauty of his scams, which he got wiser in performing after he got busted by the FTC.
You sell something cheap that makes you little profit (the book), but must have a hook that will make you the bread and butter (newsletter subscriptions, membership fees, other products). Don't forget to put in a couple of big-tittied women who act shocked at what he "reveals" in his infomercials. Sex sells.
Free Speech laws allows him to reprint scraped information and promote it through infomercials. The government has barred him from selling actual products like "Biotape," that he said would cure pain and arthritis." The FTC nailed him for $2 Million when he claimed coral calcium would cure cancer in his "Cures" book. He won't be making mistakes like that again.
He's learned to steer clear of the FTC and only rips off consumers now... Consumer Affairs has duller teeth than the FTC.

I have only purchased one thing off an infomercial and will never do that again. I think he was called "The Video Professor" The guy that gives the FREE How to do things on your computer because he wants your business for life. He did the same thing, gives your the free CDs then if you don't like them you can keep them and no obligation. Well not true. If you did keep them they charge you about $120.00 for the other CD and so on and so forth and there is no canceling anything, that guy is a scam artist.
Now for Kevin Trudeau, I have purchased some of his products at the book store: Natural Cures, and More Natural Cures. My wife and I were pleased with the content of those books. Also about a year ago I got a hold of "Your Wish Is Your Command" 14 CD volume. I was overwhelmingly skeptical before I listened to them and even through the first 2 CDs. The information in the CDs is very informative and helpful. I did not purchase these CDs, I got them on loan. So I did not directly do business with them directly. I will say that set of CDs changed my life over the past 9 months. You will have to listen, listen, and listen then apply the information. The point that I am trying to make is that Kevin may be a scam artist with is business practices, but the information and content that I have gotten is good.
As a new year gift of free money to everyone, I recommend that you borrow this from the library and save yourself about $30.

I purchased this book about a week ago and It seems as though Kevin copy pasted most of it. 2 of the websites he gives for "free money" ... do not even work anymore. As for the rest of the book , its pretty basic stuff he writes. I do not recommend it to anyone. It is def. NOT worth $45.

Folks, while I appreciate such heartfelt and passionate comments, I have to disagree with your bashing of his "Natural Cures..." book; this book has changed my life, literally! I would STRONGLY RECOMMEND his book about Natural Cures, as most of the information therein is absolutely true; many of you will deny it (truth hurts sometimes), but revelations about ultimate hypocrisy and greed of FDA is truly astonishing. Many great, life-saving advice are given in the Natural Cures book, including what to avoid (ingredients, etc.) and what is best for our health. I would recommend "Natural Cures" to anybody, without hesitation!
Now, as for "Free Money" - I will probably check it out in the library. May actually buy it. But based on his book "Natural Cures" I can say Mr. Trudeau is a good, honest, brave person who is not afraid to go against corporate greed and government lies.

Yes, he have definitely been ripping off too many people. I've read too many complaints on the internet. I"ve have always did research online for every informerical I do watch on tv. Also, I would like to suggest another website to investigate businesses or companies online it's called Rip Off before you buy or purchase any products. I would like to make another suggestion please don't order any products with your credit card, debit card, buy a Prepaid Visa or Mastercard so your bank or credit card account so people like Kevin Trudeau,and all these con artist's this way it's not linked with your bank account or credit card account numbers, or personal information.

Here's the scoop. The money comes from "unclaimed property" held by state tresurers. All you have to do is go to the state treasures website for every state you ever had an address in, and look it up for yourself. Totally free. Yes, I got money this way (check from an old employer who I guess couldn't find me), but I did NOT buy the book.

This book is really poorly written...it really does not disclose the "information" they claim it does. The 1st 50 plus pages are a build to nothing. A lot of people said they didn't refund the money with the money back guarantee however, I will say that I followed all the steps correctly and did get my money back with no hassle.
Can you see, he preys on the financially desperate and uneducated and stupid. Remember if it sounds too good to be true it probably isn't. The only person laughing all the way to the bank is him and the people he paid to appear on tv.

They make that infomercial look like a real interview. But by the end you can see she is just part of the show. But a lot of people will get suckered in by it. Why the legal system allows people like him to continue to get away with blatant fraudulent claims is beyond me. I guess it allows politicians to continue to lie and steal us blind, amassing big fortunes for themselves, banks and other big businesses. Fortunately, I have seen enough scams that I always check things out before ordering anything.

I bought his natural cures book way back, and the info it it does make sense and helped me start a healthier lifestyle. As for this book, I was curious, but I'm assuming the free money is only for poor people like it is in the real world. I saw someones comment that made me laugh:
